With the prospect of funding training equipment becoming more and more daunting for fire departments across the United States the ability to write a competitive grant has become a necessity, with some departments going as far as employing grant writers. Some departments hire outside agencies to write their grant, paying out of pocket for an outcome, but the challenge remains the same… to prove a need for this equipment, in such a competitive environment.
The Competition is Tough
In 2010, departments applied for 2,555,416,064 through the assistance to Firefighters grant, of that 338,937,290 was awarded, or just over 13% of total requested. With this stat in mind, it makes sense to employ outside resources for any grant application, big or small.
Fireblast Global Can Help
Over the years, Fireblast has employed countless work hours in developing a list of available grants to departments at both a federal, state, and local level to help fund training simulators. We have developed narratives that have been successful through the years at obtaining propane and Class A training trailers, Flammable Liquid and Gas Trainers, as well as Hazmat tankers.
Over the years Fireblast Global has learned the steps it takes to get through the process, and what is needed. Contact us to be added to a list of contacts who will receive notification when the Assistance to Firefighters Grant applications are announced for the coming year, and we can help you find workshops and any pertinent information you will need.
Grants can help alleviate funding issues, and get the training to the departments and help protect resources in the community.
